There's good reason you live there.
If you haven't had enough LA fires, here's another one: the Hughes Fire, north of LA northeast of Castaic and Santa Clarita. It erupted today (and may have been intentionally set by arsonists) and exploded to roughly 10,000 acres in just hours. While I don't think that it's burned any structures (yet), I believe that about 30,000 people have received evacuation warnings or orders. Currently 0% containment.

The Hughes fire has destroyed its first structure - The Combat Paintball Park on Charlie Canyon Road
While precautionary evacuation warnings have expanded, actual orders have shrunk and people are returning to their homes. The Hughes fire has been prevented from entering populated areas, though it continues to burn in the remote hills.
But there's light at the end of the tunnel in LA (which for once isn't an oncoming locomotive).
The sky in southern California (and here in the Bay Area too) is becoming grey and cloudy and a low-pressure area is predicted to bring light rain and scattered thunderstorms to LA for the next few days. Hopefully the rain puts the fires out and dry lightning doesn't light more.
BREAKING: California Governor Gavin Newsom punches back hard after Donald Trump exploits the deadly Los Angeles wildfires to demand political concessions in return for federal relief funds.
Newsom is putting his money where his mouth is while Trump plays politics...
"Conditioning aid for American citizens is wrong," Newsom said bluntly through his press office before debunking Trump's claims—
"FACT: Under current CA law you must be a CA resident and US citizen (and attest to being one under penalty of perjury) AND provide a form of ID such as driver’s license or passport that has been approved by the Secretary of State in order to register to vote."
"FACT: 15 states do not generally require voter ID at polls, including Nevada and Pennsylvania (two states won by President Trump)."
"FACT: California pumps as much water now as it could under prior Trump-era policies."
Newsom's office was responding to the vile demands Donald Trump made earlier today day, during which the so-called president shamelessly politicized a natural disaster.
"I want to see two things in Los Angeles," Trump told reporters in North Carolina. "Voter ID, so that the people have a chance to vote, and I want to see the water be released and come down into Los Angeles and throughout the state."
"Those are the two things. After that, I will be the greatest president that California has ever seen,” he insisted.
Unfortunately for him, Governor Newsom is no pushover. Just yesterday he signed a $2.5 billion relief package that will be "made available immediately" for disaster recovery, debris removal, logistics work, traffic management, and more.
Trump plays politics. Newsom gets the job done."
Newscum is a proven liar and piece of shit. He's just getting performative about defending his own crap policies.
The state of California speaks for itself.
