It combines the simplicity of wheels with one of the advantages of legs. I can see obvious applications for small robots and extraterrestrial rovers.

And it climbs passively without need for any sensors or actuators. It's cheap and can be 3-D printed where it's needed.

They say that it rolls smoothly without any more vibration than a normal wheel.

I like cheap, simple engineering solutions like this.
