Evidence of ire about cultural appropriation truly being one-sided? Given that "Riverdance" was an entertainment industry concoction of 1995 (that long ago, already?), it's hardly a traditional staple or foundation of Irish culture, any more than a musical like "Oklahoma!" was fully being born of pioneers and settlers of the West.

Back in the day a BBC reporter was in the changing rooms or whatever as they got ready to go on stage for Riverdance. She said they were all leaping around like gazelles.

Actually the article I got the vid from called it a cultural mix. There was supposed to be a ? Mark in the thread title. I guess Chinese dancers performing Irish dance is a mix, idk.
