VIDEO EXCERPTS: [...] George Benson is not on the list. ... It's not like he's not known. He had massive hit songs and is one of the most ridiculously great guitar players. ... Everything you want in a guitar player. As a matter of fact, I have a video on my phone that I watch at least once every couple months, of George Benson improvising. Just to remind myself how great somebody could be at the guitar. It's that astounding.

[...] Is it possible that Tommy Emanuel is not on there? [...] Pat Metheny? [...] Joe Pass? [...] Antonio Carlos Jobim? [...] Tom Schultz? [...]

What is this -- Guthrie Govan is not on here? Now I understand that Guthrie doesn't have that many records out there. Guthrie is a monster, and if you don't know Guthrie Govan go look on YouTube. There's a million videos of him on there. People are literally terrified of Guthrie. They don't even want to get on stage with him, he's that good.

But lastly, Alan Holdsworth is not on the list. If you ask everyone that's alive that's at the top of the list about Alan Holdsworth, they all say the same thing: He's the guy. How do you have this list without Alan Holdsworth?

Did Gary Moore make it?

Wish there was a simple version of the list that could actually get loaded on one page, but the only one I found is ludicrously aborted by an account wall before it gets to even 50.

"Gary Moore’s absence from the list particularly stands out, given endorsements of his influence by other artists. For instance, former Alice Cooper guitarist Orianthi lauded Moore for pioneering the ‘blues metal’ genre. Describing him as a unique blend of skill and emotion, she reminisced about growing up listening to Moore’s music."

That's a bummer. Yeah, Orianthi's "How do you sleep" reminds me of Moore.
