I heard
some years ago that he went "global-citizen-woke" in the comics. And even in the
current TV series he seems to have little strict allegiance to the US. He got chewed out by the military last year (Project 7734 or whatever black ops) for buzzing from some local urgent endeavor of theirs to help out the Chinese.

Well that has embarrassed the hell out of me! An obvious failure to keep up with Super News. Poor guy is feeling the heat just for trying to be even-handed. But that's ok - he's super tough on the inside too - they say.
