Taken from a German V-2 (#13) seized by the US at the end of World War II and launched from White Sands New Mexico on October 24, 1946. It reached 105 km/65 miles high, just above what today is the 100 km Karman Line. This is about the same height as reached by today's Blue Origin New Shephard tourist rocket.

No parachute, the camera was destroyed by the return impact. But the film encased in a steel cassette survived amidst the wreckage.
