Crew-5 is set to go tomorrow with a crew of four from Pad 39A. Two men (one American, one Japanese) and two women (one American and one Russian). Yes, the Russians are still flying on our American broomsticks, despite all the recent unpleasantness. (I like that.)

Launch scheduled for 12 noon EDT, 9 AM PDT Wednesday October 5. It's an instantaneous launch window since the vehicle has to catch the ISS in orbit.

Booster will be B-1077 on its first flight, and the Dragon capsule will be C-210 'Endurance' on its second flight (its first flight was Crew-3).

The SpaceX webcast will go live at 5:30 AM PDT/8:30 AM EDT so you can see the astros suit up, go to the pad, get sealed in etc.

The Crew-5 crew are inside the Dragon but the hatch isn't sealed yet. The pad-ninjas are swarming.

Here is Russian cosmonaut Anna Kakina, the first Russian to ride an American vehicle (broomstick) to space in 20 years. SpaceX pressure suit but with a Roscosmos patch on her shoulder.

10:20 EDT, the ninjas are sealing the hatch now

After the hatch was sealed, a small pressure leak was detected due to FOD (foreign object debris). So the hatch was unsealed and the seals were carefully cleaned by the ninjas. This was completed quickly and the hatch is closed again.

Well, Crew-5 is up. Beautiful launch and they are now in orbit, performing orbital adjustment burns to match orbits with the Space Station.
