A friend of mine had a small dinner party this weekend, and made pomegranate punch which was quite different, but delicious.
The recipe is pretty simple:
2 pomegranates - cut open and remove all the seeds -place seeds in large punch bowl and let them float in the liquids
1 cup red wine (like a house or cab)
1/2 cup rum
Several ice 'stones' (better than ice cubes as they won't dilute your punch)
2 cups carbonated water, or regular water, whichever you prefer
*If you don't wish to use wine or rum and have an alcohol-free punch, just replace wine with sparkling cider, and add a little almond extract
