ViDEO EXCERPTS: Recently I found myself unable to listen to anything made before 2005. And personally, I've been tuned of out pop music for a while. I don't expect to like pop music, anymore -- I don't expect it to be good. So I don't look for any modern pop artists, to release music that I like.

However, I realize that is really weird. Because I am 22 years old, so I should theoretically love the music that comes out right now. Most people love the music that comes out when they are in their prime. But I have hated music for a long time, I've hated the modern style of music. [...] So number one, the first thing I have is boring. ... We've lowered out standards because we're so bored...

My two daughters grew up in the Boy Band era. I couldn’t stand it and gritted my teeth, tolerating it every time heard it. So maybe that’s what is necessary for a young age group to love the music genre of the day….have your parents hate it.

Grew up on 60-70’s music and there was a time when I thought women decided what was popular. Rock bands surrounded by throngs of adoring girls….don’t see that much anymore but I’m older now. If the gals liked it, then as a guy you played or listened to it. Made it tough for female singers but the successful ones usually were appreciated by female listener as well. Men paid attention to what women liked, it was crucial.

Then it all changed. If it sounds good, listen to it.
